Bulletstorm Review

Bulletstorm is a game that utilizes dark and dirty humor, unforgettable characters, and creative domination strategies. It all comes together perfectly to make a great innovative game that brings something new to the overcrowded FPS (first person shouter) genre.  I don't hate these games, but we needed something new in this particular market which is currently overflowing with generic war games that seem to all be the same.  Bulletstorm delivers!
From the very beginning of Bulletstorm I had the most fun I have had in a very long with a FPS.I fell in love with the skill shot system which I will miss in the other games I play in the future. The skill shot system rewards you with points to buy upgrades and ammo. "How do you get skill shots?", you may ask. Well, its simple. Destroy your enemies in the most creative and destructive way. There are 135 different skill shots you can perform. The idea of creative killing is not the only thing that makes Bulletstorm stand out.The whip changed the way I  look at the environment. The whip is a devise on your hand that can grab enemies around you and you can decide how they die.Using the boot also changes things. I can kick an explosive barrel at a enemy then shoot it.The gameplay is fun and brings out some new game mechanics.
The story is simple. You play as a space pirate, Grayson Hunt, who's a foul mouth drunk. He and his squad were tricked by General Sarrano to kill Innocent people. Grayson wants revenge no matter what it takes. The story is alright, nothing special, but the characters are unforgettable and highly unusual. The eccentric characters would have been at home in the movie Fifth Element.
The environment is beautiful and the sky boxes seem to set the whole mood. During the campaign you have sidekicks with you that bring out hilarious dialog from Grayson. I have never played a game like Bulletstorm before.  I hope they make a sequel and it establishes itself as a strong franchise. I would like to see more of the crazy world of Bulletstorm. I recommend that you at least you rent this game. I would say this game has a high rating on replaying over and over. I rate this game a 9.25

Dead space 2 review

Dead Space 2 is a survival horror game set in the future. You play as Isaac Clark, A survivor from the first Dead Space which left Issac alone in an emergency pod drifting in space. In Dead Space 2 Isaac has been rescued and has spent about three years in an asylum at the Sprawl (a giant space station with mini marts). The Necromorphs are back. Isaac is losing his mind, haunted by his deathly pale eyeless and slightly demonic girlfriend who died in the first Dead Space. Through the game Isaac is betrayed and nearly killed multiple times. He is being hunted down by every thing from cult followers (called the Unitologists), cops on the Sprawl, all the way down to Necromorph toddlers.

In spite of the imagery above, I would not say that Dead Space 2 is a very scary game though.  At first you may jump a few times. Once you upgrade your guns you then get a sense of being the hunter rather than the hunted.  Don't get me wrong. This is an enjoyable game. It's just not that scary. I would recommend that you start at an easier difficulty level than you usually do.  This game's easy seemed more like normal play to me and the normal seemed more like hard, etc. The game-play is great and seems to never get old.  Something about tearing limbs always feels right. The multi-player is absolutely no Halo or Call of Duty and will get old fast. It is, however, a good bonus. In case you were worried, the multi-player does not seem to take away from any of the campaigns quality or length. The game comes with two discs and the campaign is as long as or longer than the original Dead Space.

Dead space 2 is a fun and a truly cinematic experience but not a scary game.  Maybe if you play it on a harder difficulty it is a more intense game. I rate this game a 8.5 out of 10.  This is manly because a game that's in the genre of horror should be scary. If EA told me that Dead space 2 is just an action game I would have rated it higher. But its not.You should buy this game or at the least rent it. You will not be sorry.
